FAQs
Frequently asked questions about occupational therapy
What is Occupational therapy?
Occupational therapy is designed to support physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being. Occupational therapists work with individuals to help them improve their fine motor skills, coordination, and endurance, as well as their ability to focus and attend to tasks.
Can I be present during the therapy sessions?
Yes, parents, families and caregivers are often encouraged to attend therapy sessions to learn strategies and techniques that can be used at home to support our clinical sessions.
Can Occupational therapy be covered by health insurance?
It all depends on your health insurance policy. Some insurance companies foot the entire bill for occupational therapy, while others may require a co-pay or that you meet a certain deductible before they chip in. Here at our clinic, we accept private health funds, NDIS (Self managed or Plan managed) and Medicare CDM Fund.
What are the benefits of Occupational therapy
Occupational therapy can help individuals with a wide range of conditions, including developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), cerebral palsy, trauma, and learning difficulties. Occupational therapists use play-based activities, sensory integration and adaptive equipment to make the therapy sessions fun, engaging and age-appropriate for children. These activities are designed to help children improve their ability to participate in daily activities, such as self-care, play, social interaction, school readiness, and many more.
Do I need a doctor's referral?
At our clinic, we always prefer when patients come to us with a referral from their doctor. However, if you don't have one, please book an appointment and we'll be happy to discuss your options with you. Our appointments are usually available within a week.
Where do sessions take place?
Our clinic is conveniently located at Norwest. We offer in-person or video conferencing in our Clinic. Give us a call today to discuss your preference.

Our Service
Services We Offer
Advantage Therapy Offers comprehensive assessments, speech therapy and occupational therapy for kids and adults. In addition to assessments and therapy, the clinic also offers treatment-intensive services in both private and group sessions. These intensive sessions provide focused and individualised treatment plans to help individuals make significant progress in a shorter amount of time. Our experienced therapists will work closely to ensure the best possible outcome.

Speech/OT Assessment
Assessments can help to identify areas of need that may require further intervention, such as speech and occupational therapy. With the help of assessments parents and therpists can work together to create an Individualised Program (IP) that best meets the needs of the child.

Speech Therapy
Designed to help individuals improve their communication skills and overcome speech, language and voice difficulties through individualised assessment and treatment.

Occupational Therapy
To help your kids overcome obstacles and perform daily activities to their full potential. We'll work with them to identify problem areas and develop creative solutions that can help improve their quality of life
